Being a Fire Chief at Lake Delta is both a thankless and a monumental task. Lake Delta Chiefs are not paid but they are expected to:
know everything about everything;
take responsibility for everything;
take no credit for anything
beg for the funds to make it all happen and then...
wash their own truck after a call.
In short, a Lake Delta Fire Chief must be a perfect mix of Socrates, Ghandi, Lee Iacocca and one’s younger brother or sister.
The people on these pages are past Lake Delta Fire Department Chiefs. Lake Delta fireman salute them and promised our current Chief "when you become a past Chief we will salute you too!" Well, that was our original thought until an August 14, 2007 fire broke out on Turin Road.
Chief Joseph Patane had already earned the respect of fireman but he earned a salute from Lake Delta fireman on August 14, 2007.
Welcome to the Chief's Page Joe! Baptism by fire huh!
